Tram & World Fair

This morning the street I live on went through a huge change... After a year of renovation and a lot of workingnoises, this morning the first tram slided through the street. It was actually a welcome back, because in the 1920s en 30s there was a tram that went through our street. Eventually it was replaced by a bus, and now it's full circle again. No pictures of today, but two wonderful postcards of the glory in olden days...



The building you see in the picture above at the end of the row (it's white), is the same building you see on the picture below, it's on the left. It was built in 1913 for the World Fair which was held in my hometown. The station and the square in front were also built especially for that Expo. The building is still very much in use, and so is the station, but the square has changed from this wonderful parc to an ugly busstation. Luckily they're trying as hard as possible to restore the former glory of this place.
